Congrats to our July Member of the Month, Aaron Janes!

(aka Mr. Katie Janes *hahaha*)

Aaron is a proud Dad of 3 little girls, works full time as a woodworker doing historic restorations, he has a great sense of humor and is always down to have some fun. We’re so glad his wife talked him in to the #LocoFam!

Q: What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?

A: I first started CrossFit because I wanted to get in shape to run the bridge run this past April. I used to run a decent amount but stopped because it gave me back problems. Katie had been doing cross fit for a few months and assured me it was not a cult.

Q: What was your first impression?  How has that changed?

A: I was skeptical at first. I really didn’t know what to expect. I just new I didn’t like traditional gyms. Locomotion  has been great, the variety in the workouts keeps it interesting. The group setting was intimidating at first, but everyone from the coaches to the other members made me feel welcome and made sure that I understood the workouts.

Q: What was your first “bright spot”?

A: First bright spot was realizing my training in the gym paid off when I finished the bridge run just over my goal of 54min!

Q: What are you working on now?

A: I’m currently working on getting to the gym on a more regular basis. Even if that means 5:15am class.

Q: What’s your favorite Locomotion Memory?

A: My favorite memory – I’d have to say was the first week of The Intramural Open. I was actually able to place fourth for the whole gym which was pretty awesome.

Thanks Aaron! Keep kicking-butt and we’ll see you in a 5:15am class!
