Congrats to our November Member of the Month, Chuck Barker!
We caught up with Chuck and asked him a few questions about his journey, here’s what he had to say:
Q: What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
A: I was eating a big pile of fish and chips across the street from the gym and saw people getting after it doing an intense workout (Murph)…I thought maybe its time to leave my comfort zone and try something new! (french fry guilt hit me)
Q: What was your first impression? How has that changed?
A: I enjoyed the camaraderie right from the start. The coaches and members are amazing and keep it fun. That hasn’t changed and I’ve developed some really great friendships with people that inspire me.
Q: What was your first “bright spot”?
A: So many different ones, but my favorite of all is my wife seeing what a positive experience this all has been and electing to join too. It’s so much fun to do these things together and being able to motivate each other.
Q: What are you working on now?
A: I’ve been working on refining fundamentals with the Olympic lifts. Also we’ve been doing some longer runs.
Q: What’s your favorite Locomotion Memory?
A: Probably one of the last open events where I got to see some epic slip and slide performances as I feasted on bbq (after a good workout of course).
