Congrats to our March Member of the Month, Kathleen Hamrick!
Kathleen is a smart, spunky Mom of two. She is a real-life roller derby queen (*Kitty Hitter) who love to do fun things, especially is she can include her fun family. We’re lucky Locomotion is on of those fun things, three out of four Hamrick’s are in our Loco Family! We’ll get a Kid’s Program going for Lily soon! 😉 Kathleen has been in our Reboot group since the get-go and is kicking off her CrossFit adventure with this years Open! She’s a busy gal, but we caught up with her and here’s what she had to say about her Locomotion Experience!
Q: What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
A: I followed your first Reboot coach, Larsyn, from a neighborhood workout to Locomotion.
Q: What was your first impression? How has that changed?
A: I liked the gym and people and atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and helpful and encouraging. It doesn’t feel like any gym I’ve been to before. I also like the absence of mirrors.
Q: What was your first “bright spot”?
A: I can’t remember first, but a breakthrough moment for the whole family was DragonCon last year. We ended up carrying Lily, backpacks, water bottles (and sometimes roller skates) all over downtown Atlanta and up and down stairs. We’d always been totally exhausted in years past but last year, after several months of training and a nutritional challenge at Locomotion, it all seemed so much easier!
Q: What are you working on now?
A: Increasing muscle mass; decreasing fat.
Q: What’s your favorite Locomotion Memory?
A: Seeing my teenage daughter Kira and her best friend Ivy gain endurance and confidence working out with Coach Christy!
