“I’m Mike Martino, strength & conditioning coach from the northeast and newest member of the Loco gang. I got my BS in Kinesiology from SUNY Cortland with a concentration in Exercise Science. Since undergrad, I have held S&C coaching positions at Penn State University, Siena College, and most recently Adelphi University. Before moving to Charleston I was the Head Coach and Fitness Director at BRICK in New York City. During this time I’ve worked with hundreds of Division-1 and Division-2 athletes as well as dozens of professional, Olympic, and CrossFit Games athletes.
As a college baseball player, I have seen first-hand how training properly can make a huge difference in both performance and quality of life. It has been a mission of mine to take CrossFit methodologies, traditional strength & conditioning principles, and everything I’ve learned about the human body to bring longevity and lifelong wellness to as many people as possible.
When I’m not at the gym, you can most likely find me at the beach or at the dog park with my 2 dogs Molly and Charlie, and my girlfriend Katie. I look forward to working with and getting to know the entire Loco community!”
