Meet Maura, our December member of the month! Maura is an OG Loco member – she has been with us through our entire journey so far, and it’s been incredible to watch her grow as an athlete and a person. Check out our interview with her to learn more about her!
Q: How long have you been a member at Loco?
A: 4 years
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a Loco athlete?
A: Definitely the community. Working out with your friends makes going to the gym a fun activity instead of a dreaded chore.
Q: What group fitness offerings do you typically participate in at Loco? Do you have a favorite? Discuss.
A: CrossFit, bootcamp, and yoga. All are great for different reasons!
Q: How would you describe the community at Loco?
A: Supportive, down-to-earth, and fun.
Q: What advice do you have for someone who is intimidated by group fitness?
A: Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Just show up and give yourself permission to be imperfect.
Q: Favorite music to sweat to?
A: Anything with positive/upbeat vibes. Bonus points if I can sync the beat with whatever movement I’m doing.

A: 90s rock

A: New Orleans Rock ‘n Roll half marathon in February

A: Bodyweight movements are my jam.
Q: Give us your background story
A: I’m a NY transplant with an aversion to cold weather and an affinity for dogs (especially Scout, the HBIC of my household). Outside the gym, my hobbies include outdoorsing, listening to bluegrass music, and amassing a collection of partially-read self-help books.
