Mental Resilience and the G.R.I.T. Model

Since the COVID-19 crisis began, Locomotion Fitness coaches have been checking in with 150 members on a regular basis. Most of them (coaches included) have struggled with mental and emotional resiliency in some aspect during this time. A time of social distancing, limited leisure, and for some, financial uncertainty. This universal struggle got us thinking about new strategies to help increase performance and mental resilience when life may not being going as planned.

This is especially important for those of us who need to perform at a high level day in and day out. Entrepreneurs, executives, and top performers in any field need to minimize their “off days,” or they’ll risk losing that economical edge they once fought so hard to gain. What we came up with is the G.R.I.T. Model.

The G.R.I.T. Model

Gratitude, Resilience, Integrity, and Toughness.
