Optimize Your Time

A lot of us follow the rule that when you are early you’re on time, when you’re on time you’re late, and you might know the rest, but that doesn’t really fit into our culture at Locomotion (if you’re late its unacceptable). When you arrive to the gym early what is the first thing you do? If you’re anything like me, you spend some time on your phone, or looking at the board, or distracting your frantic coach while they are writing gibberish on the whiteboard. LOL

How can we do better? When you get to the gym, grab a foam roller or two and ask someone to roll and chat. Kind of like a stop and chat but with purpose! Any kind of stretching or mashing is a great way to get the blood flowing to your muscles!

We have been seeing A LOT of new faces at the gym, and new faces means they might not be as comfortable walking into the gym. I know I wasn’t when I first started doing group CrossFit classes. It usually started the night before, the anxiety, what if I don’t know what I’m doing, what if I look stupid, what if what if?! I’m here to tell you, there is no wrong way, you can only do wrong by not showing up!

We are all our best cheerleader.  Locomotion has some pretty great people who make it less intimidating to show up and push yourself out of your comfort level. When we do that we grow, and growth is a huge part of life! So show up, don’t listen to the voice inside your head, and make a new friend while you warm up! Find a good routine that works for you. Keep reaching for those goals, and if you are having a hard time making goals for yourself, please ask one of your coaches we would love to help you!
