September Member of the Month

Congratulations to our September Member of the Month, Molly Duncan!

Molly started with us a little over a year ago by way of Personal Training. Over the last few months, she has transitioned 100% into taking regular group classes. We see Molly in ALL of the different class types and appreciate her noticeable effort to be the best version of herself – Molly puts in the work!

We love her sense of humor and the way she gets involved with the community – cough cough did you see her on the winning Team PURPLE for Color Wars?! Or perhaps her epic “Sack Tossers” matching outfit with Darcie for the Cornhole For A Cause tournament??  She is loved by many and has that energetic attitude that feels so great to have next to you during a workout.

Molly, you are an inspiration and have a drive for commitment to yourself that we love to see. Thank you SO much for being a part of our family 😊❤️

  1. What is your favorite thing about being a Loco athlete? 

My favorite thing about being a Loco “Athlete” (using that term loosely) is the different class offerings. I never thought I’d be a cross fitter but now I am hooked.

  1. How long have you been a member at Loco?  

About a year and four months.

  1. What group fitness offerings do you typically participate in at Loco? Do you have a favorite? Discuss.

Since transitioning from Personal Training to group fitness; I participate in almost all classes Loco has to offer. I enjoy Strength Training with Carter, Bootcamp with Bryan, Crossfit with Jess Tuck, Rest and Recovery Yoga with Alison and Barbell Bettys with Jess and Katie. Bootcamp is my favorite.

  1. How would you describe the community at Loco?


  1. What advice do you have for someone who is intimidated by group fitness? 

There is nothing to be intimidated about. I was intimidated when I first joined Locomotion. I was so out of shape and I didnt think I would be able to keep up and people would judge me. Absolutely not the case, workouts can be modified to suit the individual’s needs and everyone is there to support one another-judgment free zone. 

  1. Favorite music to sweat to? 

Lil Kim, Lloyd Banks, and DMX basically anything crunk. 

  1. Favorite movement/workout? 

I love to jump rope.

  1. Is there a member of the LocoFam that inspires and motivates you to be better? Feel free to give them a shoutout! 

There are a few members I admire. To keep this simple, just a shout out to all the early morning folks. It takes a lot of discipline to wake up early and a lot of the same people are there every day, mad props to all of them!

  1. Favorite post-workout meal?

Van Holten’s Jumbo Hot Pickle-In-A-Pouch.

  1. What fitness-related goals do you have for 2023 and beyond?

Run more and participate in more road races. 

  1. Describe your athletic abilities in five words or less.


  1. Give us your background story (you can talk about anything from education to career, to pets, to family, to hobbies, etc). 

I have been in Charleston since 2012 by way of Mechanicsville Virginia and Tuscaloosa Alabama. I am a University of Alabama Alumni (ROLL TIDE). I love college football, duh. I also enjoy college basketball, you will likely catch me with 5 or more brackets during March Madness. When I am not at the gym, I enjoy painting and making greeting cards. I like meeting new people and making new friends, I am always down for a good happy hour on a patio somewhere.
