Your Customized Health and Fitness Prescription

At Locomotion Fitness, we are first and foremost a coaching business. We have established “the Loco Way” to health and fitness- a way to give YOU a customized prescription to reaching your goals.

We meet with each member one-on-one, every 1 to 3 months for an ‘Athlete Check-In.’ In this appointment, we’ll measure the individual’s progress using an InBody composition scan, review prior class attendance, and dive in to a deep goal-setting discussion. With the information and data gathered, we can then provide a new prescription to carry forward until the next check-in.

The prescription is formed on the basis of improving life in 5 general areas, known as the 5 Pillars of Health, as well as the services we offer to support them (see below).

Example Prescriptions

Maybe your goal is to lose 10 pounds and stop having back pain when you sit at work for extended periods of time.

Your Loco prescription might be:

  • Bootcamp- 2x/week
    • With HIIT-style workouts designed to burn fat and tone muscles, bootcamp will help with your weight-loss goal.
  • Yoga- 1x/week
    • Yoga is going to help lengthen tight muscles that lead to pain while sitting. It will also improve your posture to ensure the issues caused by sitting don’t return.
  • Nutrition Coaching
    • Abs are “made in the kitchen,” so it’s not enough to strictly come to bootcamp classes. You’ll need to support that hard work with quality fuel, and our nutrition program tells you what to do. More importantly, we’ll be able to hold you accountable.

Or perhaps your goal is to run a marathon.

Your Loco prescription might be:

  • Personal Training- 1x/week
    • With personal training, we can analyze your running form to identify and improve any weaknesses. We’ll be able to take the time to work on things like hip flexor strength, or increasing the tempo of your gait.
  • Spin- 1x/week
    • Spin is the perfect cross-training tool to get in some extra cardio. Switching up your training modality allows you to reduce the risk of overuse injuries, while also giving your mind a break from the repetitiveness of running.
  • CrossFit- 1x/week
    • If we can increase the amount of force you can create off the ground, you’ll become faster. CrossFit helps to improve your power and speed, leading to less fatigue while running long distances.
